The OSPCA Act Application received overwhelming financial support from the public for which we are very grateful. In his decision, Justice Timothy Minnema said the provincial government was wrong to grant police powers to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals without also imposing accountability and transparency standards on the agency. The Attorney General of Ontario appealed. The Appeal decision is posted on the Application Process page.
The OLA continues to build our litigation fund in preparation for the next challenge.
